Out with the old, in with the new – if you’re looking for something, google can find it for you!
But can your business be found by Google? In this day and age, you cannot afford to be without a website. Statistics show that in South Africa alone, we have more cellphones than people!*
That means that there are more and more of YOUR potential customers who are searching the internet for your services. Thus, if you neglect to have an online presence, you are losing business.
So let’s say you already have a website. That is great! However, do you know if it is working for you? Is your current website effective?
Is It Effective?
There are a few things to be said about having an effective website. Firstly, a website needs to be able to be found. That sounds obvious! But did you know that if your current website is made up of image files, it is highly unlikely that you will be found by search engines? Search engines (such as google) cannot read pictures. They scan your website for text, and then use that text to determine your websites’s value. Pictures and imagery are important, but if your text is “hidden” in them, they can seriously hinder your website’s potential.*

Excessive use of pictures and imagery can also make your website slow. How many times have you been frustrated by a website that takes FOREVER to open? More often than not, you might have navigated away from the page before it finished loading – simply because you were tired of waiting. This is an important point to consider since you want to capture and hold the attention of someone who has probably never heard about your product/service before.
Another factor that can influence your websites’ effectiveness is the age of your content. Search engines are more likely to find your website if it is continually being updated with new and relevant information. (For example, you could continually update your image gallery, or make use of a blog)
Useful links and interactivity with social media can also help boost your website. Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are tools we can use to make people more aware of the services you offer. The more people that post links that point to your website, the better it is for your exposure!
At Xpose Media Group we take all of these factors into consideration when building a website for your business. We have various options available for you to chose from, and it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to “break the bank” to afford it. Check out what we have to offer!
